Budapest seems to always be changing, always evolving. One of my favorite things is coming back to the city and trying out all the new restaurants and cafes that have popped up. My list is long and even I couldn't get to them all. It just means my return trip will have to be in the very near future.
Not included is my favorite restaurant Menza, which I highly recommend as a must. Also, check out my article on all the cafes in Budapest which include my favorite cafes.

Kollázs Brasserie & Bar
Kollázs Brasserie & Bar is located in the beautiful Four Seasons Gresham Palace. The restaurant has the feel of a restaurant in 1930s Chicago. The food is contemporary and delicious. The bar has creatively crafted cocktails.
New York Cafe
New York Cafe: an oldie but a goodie, this cafe transports you back in time and makes you feel like you are sipping your coffee while sitting in Versailles. The cafe is worth the visit even if you are just peaking in to see its grandeur.
Vintage Garden
Vintage Garden: it's like having a meal inside the Anthropologie store. The cafe is a Provence inspiration. If you are feeling the French bistro, this is the place to come.
Aria Budapest Hotel & High Note Skybar
Aria Budapest Hotel is located right by the Basilica. The musical themed hotel has notes running along its lobby floors. On the rooftop is Highbar Skynote which has spectacular views of the city, Basilica, Parliament, Buda, and an aerial view of the hotel lobby.
DiVino Wine Bar
DiVino Wine Bars have popped up all over the city and I can't say I mind. The bars specialize in Hungary's local wines and offer bottles from the various wine regions. Make sure you try wines that you won't be able to get anywhere else. Skip the Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon and opt instead for Kékfrankos, Kedarka, and even the Cabernet Franc which are done so well. The bartenders are well versed and happy to help if you can't decide.
Bors GasztroBár
My new favorite spot in Budapest. The Bors GasztroBár is small soup cafe that can barely hold the people who pack inside to get their orders in. Lines form around lunch time but this place is packed at all hours of the day. The soup menu changes every day but the paninis, made over an open fire grill, remain the same. In the words of my mother, "I could eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner."
Doblo Wine & Bar
Another newcomer to the Budapest wine scene, Doblo Wine & Bar, serves notable along with artisanal wines. The wine bar's brick walls and high ceilings evoke the feeling of Brooklyn lofts.
Alexandra Bookcafe
Alexandra Bookcafe is tucked away on the top floor of a bookstore located on Andrássy út. Shop for some books and Budapest souvenirs then get some coffee and pastry in this beautiful cafe.
Gelarto Rosa
It is never too cold for my favorite ice cream and Gelarto Rosa is my favorite. Not only are the flavors delicious, but all cones are created into picturesque roses.
